Description
This is the cover and a sample page of an issue of Amazing Adventures featuring Killraven, a man who has been experimented on by Martians for the purpose of gladiatorial combat. This issue provides an example of a key aspect of SF comics and children: the Comics Code Authority, the seal of which can be seen in the upper right-hand corner. This indicates that the comic has been approved for children and young adults by the US Government. The Authority would define the adolescent experience of comic books for much of the second half of the twentieth century.
